Queensland Regional Showcase Brisbane 12-13 June 2015

What do a platypus, coffee and a photo booth have in common? All were part of the Mackay Isaac Whitsunday exhibit at the Queensland Regional Showcase.

The Regional Queensland Showcase was held at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre at Southbank, Brisbane on the 12 and 13 June 2015.

The Mackay Isaac Regional Office, Department of State Development worked in partnership with the Whitsunday ROC, Mackay Tourism, Whitsunday Marketing and Development and RDA to bring a taste of our region to the South East corner.

The Mackay Isaac Whitsunday exhibit was reminiscent of a beach café. Over a free cup of Whitsunday Gold Coffee, visitors to the exhibit had the opportunity to view videos which highlighted what makes our region a great place, to work, live, learn and invest.

A photo booth gave the opportunity to put themselves in the picture in various places throughout our region, whether it was overseeing a herd of cattle out in the Isaac, relaxing on Whitehaven Beach or patting a kangaroo at Cape Hillsborough.

Goodies for the kids included bubbles, helium balloons and turtles, tagged in the Whitsundays. Macka the Platypus also put in an appearance, and was featured on “The Project”.
